The 2011 Movie Script Contest
Guidelines & Rules

Movie Script Contest is open to anyone, anywhere.

Submitted feature-length scripts must be original works; owned entirely by author(s) and cannot be under option, sold or produced.

Adaptations of existing stories, books are not eligible. Unless, in the case of self-adaptations, where the screenwriter is also the author of the source material.

Hardcopy scripts should be on 3-hole punched paper and bound with brads. Other forms of binding are acceptable, but the above is preferred.

Feature-length scripts in all 3 genre categories: 1. Drama / 2. Comedy / 3. Thiller/Horror/Scifi are evaluated by judges based on the strength of concept, execution, characterization, dialogue, plot and marketability. Judges decisions are final.

Entrant(s) MUST select a genre category for submitted material. In the case of hybrid genres, e.g: action-comedy, romantic-horror etc; writer(s) must select still select a main genre. If clarification is required as to correct genre fit, email us at info@moviescriptcontest.com In situations where writer does not specify genre; Movie Script Contest will make our best effort to categorize it ourselves.

Entrants have the option of submitting script with or without “Professional Feedback”. Entrants will only receive feedback by selecting this option and paying the additional fee for this service. Selecting this service will not influence the placement of a script in the contest.

Substitutions of new drafts will not be accepted after entry.

Only submit a COPY of your script to the contest as they will not be returned.

Upon receipt of entry, completed forms and payment, you will receive an email confirmation of your acceptance into the contest.
